Mission Statement

The Region X Comprehensive Center (CC) at NWREL is part of a nationwide network of 15 technical assistance centers established by the U.S. Department of Education. The CC network provides training, technical assistance, and research-based information to high-poverty, low-performing schools and districts, Bureau of Indian Affairs schools, and No Child Left Behind Act grant recipients that are implementing comprehensive, whole-school reform measures.

At the Region X Comprehensive Center, we work closely with the state education departments of Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming, as well as with intermediate educational service agencies, local school districts, and other agencies within the region that are involved in educational reform and improvement. Our mission is to enhance the capacity of these departments and agencies to ensure that every child in the region has equal access to the highest quality education and an opportunity to meet challenging content and performance standards.
