The purpose of the Paraeducator Institute Training Curriculum is to prepare Title I paraeducators for Title I professional qualifications. The curriculum will be made available in 2005 to SEAs and LEAs interested in using it to meet Title I requirements for paraeducators.

Along with ideas on making paraeducators successful members of the instructional team, the booklet briefly looks at what four schools are doing with paraeducators, each employing them in different ways, and illustrating the common factors creating success.
- Designing State and Local Policies for the Professional Development of Instructional Paraeducators [PDF] This report is a general guide to state and local education agencies that are designing policies for paraeducator development. Resources for possible standards and guidelines are suggested for states and local educational agencies exploring how to appropriately train their paraeducators. Information about post-secondary educational programs and the current scope of paraeducator training and employment are also presented.
- The Oregon Resource Guide to Paraeducator Issues These resources are intended to provide you with specific, and general informational resources/references that may answer any number of questions that may have surfaced recently as a result of the qualification requirements for paraeducators under No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 (NCLB), Title I, section 1119 (c).

- National Resource Center for Paraprofessionals National Resource Center for Paraprofessionals in Education and Related Services (NRCP) was created in 1979 with funding from the Bureau of Education for the Handicapped (currently, the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education Programs). Technical assistance and training is available through the center on a fee-for-service basis.
